Miki Jordan, Board Member

Miki Jordan is the president and CEO of Junior Blind of America. She joined Junior Blind in 2006 with a well-respected record as an innovator and leader. At an early age, she inherited a deep compassion for those in any kind of need from her father, the founder of the renowned Fred Jordan Missions.
Ms. Jordan is just the third CEO in Junior Blind of America's more than 55-year history. As president, CEO and a member of the board of directors, she brings to the organization a bold vision for the future. Since joining the organization, she has worked to translate that vision into reality through an ambitious, long-term plan. Under her guidance, Junior Blind of America is building upon its legacy of excellence by expanding the depth and reach of its programs and services for blind and visually impaired individuals around California and beyond.

Prior to joining Junior Blind of America, Ms. Jordan served as president and CEO of Para Los Niños, a Los Angeles-based family service agency with facilities in downtown Los Angeles and 20 other locations throughout Los Angeles County. Para Los Niños aids low-income children and working families through child development and education, after school enrichment, youth diversion and delinquency prevention, child abuse prevention and intervention, mental health, family support and a charter school. Under Ms. Jordan's leadership, Para Los Niños was heralded as one of the most effective human services organizations in Los Angeles.

Currently, Ms. Jordan serves on the board of VisionServe Alliance and was an active member of the Child Welfare League of America's (CWLA) board and International Projects Advisory Committee. She was named Nonprofit CEO of the Year in 2005 by the Los Angeles Business Journal, Outstanding Professional on National Philanthropy Day in 1999, and received the Citizen of the Year award from the Lions Club in 1998.

Ms. Jordan earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from The University of Texas and a master's degree in organizational management from Chapman University.
