THE BOARD

Ms. Playa is a humanitarian who holds a bachelor's degree in English literature and a master's degree in theology. She was a high school religion teacher for 2 years in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and spent a year living at a mission on the south side of Chicago, working to assist poor families.

Ms. Playa has contributed much energy to children and their causes. She was a volunteer in the Los Angeles Unified School District, and travels internationally to advocate on behalf of children and families. Her vision is to help manifest a world where health, dignity and freedom are not only a birthright but a reality.
