THE BOARD

Ms. Playa is a philanthropist who holds a bachelor's degree in English literature and a master's degree in theology. She was a high school religion teacher for 2 years in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and spent a year living at a mission in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the south side of Chicago, working to assist poor families.

Now residing in New Jersey, Ms. Playa has contributed much energy to children and their causes. She was a volunteer in the Los Angeles Unified School District, and is also is the editor and founder of The Playa Wire, whose mission is to provide a platform for people to share and inspire solutions that will create a better tomorrow for our children.
