THE BOARD

Kathryn Playa is a philanthropist who has contributed much energy to children and their causes. She holds a bachelor's degree in English literature and a master's degree in theology, and was a high school religion teacher for two years in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She also spent a year living at a mission in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the south side of Chicago, working to assist poor families.

Now residing in Los Angeles, Ms. Playa has been a donor to various charitable causes over the past 10 years. She has served on the board of the Los Angeles Youth Network, and continues to provide support to the children who reside in that organization's group home. In creating this foundation, it is Ms. Playa's vision to focus and magnify the work she has begun, in order to make a larger positive impact on the world.
